Time Zone Converter & Globe
Privacy policy
Time Zone Converter & Globe (“the app”) is published by Silom Digital. This policy covers the app only; it is separate from this website’s own policy.
The short version
We have no accounts, no analytics and no server of our own, and we never see your data. Your cities and settings stay on your device. The free app shows one banner ad served by Google, and Google collects the data described below to do that. If you buy Pro, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment, with RevenueCat confirming the purchase.
Who is responsible for your data
The app is developed by Ali Završnik, trading as Silom Digital, based in Slovenia, European Union.
- Postal address: 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia
- Email: admin@silomdigital.com
- Website: silomdigital.com
- App bundle ID:
com.silomdigital.timezoneconverter
For the GDPR, Ali Završnik / Silom Digital is the controller for any personal data processed through the app. Because the app sends us nothing, that is none. Google and RevenueCat decide how they use the data they receive, under their own privacy policies, as described below.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, receive or store any personal information about you. We have no accounts, no sign-in and no analytics or crash-reporting of our own, and we run no server that the app talks to.
Two other companies do receive data because of what the app includes. They are described next, and we never receive it from them.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows one banner ad from Google AdMob. To choose, show and measure that ad, Google’s software inside the app collects, and sends to Google:
- your IP address, which Google uses to estimate your general location;
- your device’s advertising identifier, but only if you allow it (see below);
- which ads were shown and how you interacted with them;
- diagnostic, performance and crash information about the ad software.
Google uses this to show and measure ads, for analytics and to prevent fraud. Where the law requires consent, that consent is the legal basis, and you can withdraw it at any time. Google handles the data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. It is sent over an encrypted connection.
Your choices
- Consent. Where the law requires it (the EEA, the UK and some US states), the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices, which appears where that applies.
- iPhone and iPad. The app asks permission before using your advertising identifier. If you decline, or later turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, ads are still shown but are not personalised.
- Android. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- No ad, no data. Buying World Clock Pro removes the ad. With no ad requested, nothing is sent to Google.
Purchases
If you buy World Clock Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We never see your name, card or billing address.
Confirming the purchase, and restoring it later, uses RevenueCat. It records that a purchase happened against a random identifier created on your device. There is no name or email in that record, and no account. RevenueCat handles it under its own privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy).
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
What the app stores on your device
The app saves these on your device only:
- the home city you choose;
- the cities you add to your list, and their order;
- your settings (12/24-hour clock, seconds on or off, theme, default globe).
None of this is uploaded to us. It is removed when you delete the app. Whether you own Pro is not stored by us either: it is checked with the store each time.
Where the time data comes from
City names, countries and time zones are bundled inside the app, built from the GeoNames database (CC BY 4.0) and the IANA time zone database. Searching for a city makes no network request.
Children
The app is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we have nothing to delete because we hold nothing. Ads are served by Google under its own policies. If you are a parent and would like an ad-free app, World Clock Pro removes the ad.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to show, export or delete. For data Google or RevenueCat hold, use the controls above and the rights described in their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects or shares changes, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top.
